COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course is designed to reflect the job roles of contract bookkeepers and employees performing bookkeeping tasks for organisations in a range of industries.

PATHWAYS INFORMATION
Preferred pathways into the qualification may include;
  • Certificate III in Accounts Administration
  • Employment in a bookkeeping job role with functions that include; establishing and maintaining manual & computerised accounting systems; completing BAS & other financial statements, developing bookkeeping management systems, general administration.
Pathways from the qualification may include;
  • Diploma of Accounting

LEARNING OUTCOMES
  • Complete Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Maintain manual and computerised accounting systems
  • Develop book keeping managed systems for business
PARTICIPANTS REQUIREMENTS
To successfully complete this qualification it is necessary to;
  • Have access to and the ability to use a computer
  • Have internet access so you can locate and use relevant research material
  • Have sound English literacy skills to read and comprehend information from a variety of sources and compile documents
  • Have organisational and time management skills to sequence tasks and meet deadlines
QUALIFICATION RULES
The Certificate IV in Bookkeeping consists of 6 Core units and 7 Elective units of competence.

  • FNSACC303 Perform financial calculations
  • FNSBKG402 Establish and maintain a cash accounting system
  • FNSBKG401 Develop and implement policies and procedures relevant to bookkeeping activities
  • FNSINC401 Apply principles of professional practice to work in the financial services industry
  • FNSBKG403 Establish and maintain an accrual accounting system
  • BSBITU306 Design and produce business documents
  • FNSBKG405 Establish and maintain a payroll system
  • FNSACC301 Process financial transactions and extract interim reports
  • FNSBKG404 Carry out Business Activity and Instalment Activity Statement tasks
  • FNSACC302 Administer subsidiary accounts and ledgers
  • FNSACC405 Maintain Inventory Records
  • BSBFIA401 Prepare financial reports

COURSE DELIVERY / ASSESSMENT
  • Gramac Training Solutions delivers the Certificate IV in Bookkeeping through blended delivery including face-to-face in a classroom/workshop environment, or as a Traineeship
  • Prior to enrolment participants must undertake an interview and a LLN (language, literacy & numeracy) assessment
  • Learning guides and materials are supplied to participants
TIMELINES
  • Classroom / Self-Paced – comprehensive face-to-face classroom training session, plus external studies
  • Traineeship – up to 18 months to complete the course with blended delivery
  • Government incentives may be available to employers by training their staff on the job towards a qualification
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
In circumstances where you believe you can demonstrate competence in any of the units through skills, knowledge and experience acquired training and work and life experience you can apply for RPL Assessment by consulting with a Gramac Training Solutions Trainer/Assessor.
