COURSE OBJECTIVE
This unit specifies competency required to enter and work in a confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections. It includes the minimum criteria for competency assessment. This unit includes entry and exit procedures, assessment of associated risks and how to operate safely in a confined space which is at atmospheric pressure during occupancy as per AS/NZS 2865:2009.

COURSE OUTCOME
On successful completion of course participants will be issued with a statement of attainment for the unit of competency;
  • RIIWHS202D Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
  • and receive a wallet size Enter and Work in Confined Spaces Card

PARTICIPANTS MUST
  • Wear fully enclosed steel cap footwear, shirt and long pants/trousers.
  • Photo Identification is mandatory for certification courses (ie Australian Drivers licence, Passport or Proof of Age Card). ID must contain photo, signature and date of birth.
  • Entrants will need a level of language and literacy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course.
Industry recommends that refresher training for enter and work in confined spaces could be conducted every two years.
