COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course will provide participants with the knowledge, training and practical skills to effectively perform the role and responsibilities of a Fire Warden.

This Fire Warden training course is suitable for companies and organisations which require selected members of staff to be trained as Fire Wardens, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage building emergencies. Participants will learn to recognise and manage the human behavior characteristics which may surface during the high-stress times during an emergency.

Morning and afternoon session available

COURSE CONTENT
This course includes a balanced content of theory and class participation through open discussion and practical application.
Duties of a Warden as per the requirement AS 3745-2010 (Evacuation and being part of your Emergency Control Organisation (ECO)
  • Obligations under the WHS Regulations
  • Preparing for Emergencies
  • Responding to Emergencies
  • Emergency Scenarios
  • Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPS) For Occupant and Visitors with a Disability
  • Identifying Other Hazards (Conducting a work environment and facilities checklist)
  • Evacuation Exercises
  • Emergency Evacuation Diagrams and Signs

COURSE OUTCOME
  • Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
  • To maintain the currency and validity of your skills, it is recommended this course be completed every 12 months.

PARTICIPANTS MUST
Wear fully enclosed, non-slip safety footwear (excludes sports shoes), shirt and long pants/ trousers.
